
Himson Textile Engineering Industries Private Limited is the
flagship company of the Rs. 4.0 billion Himson group. Himson started
its activities about 50 years ago with only few looms to manufacture
quality fabrics. Since then group activities have grown from
strength to strength. Himson first concentrated on expansion in the
loom shed and subsequently dyeing and finishing houses were added
for further growth through forward integrations. Further lace and
embroidery units were established as a move towards complementary
diversification. Till this time growth was slow and steady with
focus only on textiles.
1970 Onwards
In the seventies, the focus was shifted towards high growth. At
this time the company saw the opportunity of manufacturing synthetic
yarn processing machineries, the market for which was large but
untapped. The seeds for this were sow with the commencement of
manufacturing of up twisting and rewinding machines and Himson
Textile Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. came into being. We currently manufacturing textile winding machines, textile weaving machines, draw texturising machines, tfo twisting machines and knitting machines.
1997 Turn over Touches Rs. 3 Billion
The group's turnover started with few millions has increased to Rs.
4.0 billion in 1989-90 and the turnover Himson textile Engg. Inds.
Pvt. Ltd. has increased from Rs. 6.0 Millions in 1974 to Rs. 3.0
Billion in 1996-97.
The company manufactures a wide range of yarn processing machinery
from Draw Texturing Machines to Draw Twisting Machines. Air
Texturing Machines, Two for One Twisters for filament Yarn.
Automatic Shuttle changing looms, Rapier Looms and High Speed
Circular Knitting Machines. Ancillary units manufacture precaution
spindles high quality Ceramic guides/ Components, PU Discs and
Heaters for DTY / DT machines, Silk Yarn processing machines and
Jute Looms.

Since then there has been no turning back and the company came on
the fast track. But the real momentum growth was provided in 1978,
when Himson tied up with Earnest Sons Ltd. , UK to manufacture Draw
Texturising Machines in India. Then the strategy was to the best
available technology from abroad and adapting the same to local
requirements. This strategy has been paying well and has made the
company an undisputed leader in synthetic yarn processing machinery.
This has been achieved by capturing almost 85% market share inspite
of big competition from leaders. Leadership in synthetic yarn
processing machinery has been accepted by leading POY manufactures
by placing large quantity of machine orders. Himson also enjoys high
reputation for in-house research and technology developments. The
real success is due to the efficient and prompt after sales services
to the customers. Himson has captured more than 70% of the domestic
market share to supply synthetic yarn machinery.
Catering Market Demands
The increase in demand from the hosiery sector led Himson to enter
into collaboration with M/S Camber International of UK in year 1995
to manufacture High Speed Circular Knitting Machines.
Tie up with Teijin Seiki Co. Ltd. Japan.
Himson has entered into a technical collaboration with M/s Teijin
Seiki Textile Machinery Co. Ltd., Japan in year 1998 to manufacture
High speed Draw Texturising Machines, textile winding machines, textile winder with energy conserving short
heaters and auto doffing.

The Employees
The company has about 1200 employees on its rolls, of which about
150 (13%) are Management / Executive staff and 150 are Technical
staff. The company has also helped develop about 150 ancillary units
owned by qualified engineers. This has helped the company easily
absorb the latest technology and adapt the same to meet the global
requirement.
Infrastructure

The fast growth has been sustained by installing modern Computerized
Numerical Controlled Machining Centers to achieve highest accuracy
and setting up a full equipped R&D Center. Further is has a high
- tech, state of the art Standard Room for verification and
calibration of measuring tools. The Standard Room is equipped with
3D CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine along with other latest state of
art machines & equipments.
Sales Network
The company has well - developed sales network with branch offices
at Mumbai, Delhi Ahmadabad and Ludhiana besides a corporate office
at Surat. After establishing itself in India the company has marched
forward towards export market and has secured orders against global
competition. The products have been exported to Germany, U.K,
Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, Nepal, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka
